Religion is the medium that our Spirituality grows, through ritual, worship, practice, and community. Wicca is a beautiful and Spiritually rich Religion that encompasses many faiths, and a variety of paths, all while leaving us the God and Goddess given gift of free-will and unconditional love.
Wicca is a new way to worship the old Gods, and bring us closer to the Divine. The Scandinavian Gods of old are full of traditions, culture, stories, myths and legends that guide our individual paths to enlightenment, and help us live ethical and morally good lives.
Norse Wicca is not a reconstruction religion - we are not trying to worship the Gods and Goddesses just as they did a long time ago. While some hold faith that this is the only way to do them justice - it is very difficult to relate to their form of worship since our lives of today are so vastly different from their lives of yesterday. The difficulty trying to discern actual fact from re-written Christian dogma from the monks who travelled and made recordings of the Scandinavian peoples faith takes away from the Spiritual journey and growth in Faith through Worship.
Worshipping the Aesir and Vanir is wonderful in it's own rite. Doing so in a Wiccan Circle, following the familiar Ritual of Calling the Quarters, Meditation, Grounding and Centering, Invocation of the Goddess and God, celebrating the Wheel of the Year makes the whole experience even better! Becoming enriched with the new worship form of Wicca, following our hearts and celebrating our Spiritual journey as our hearts lead us, and combining it all with the deep culture and history of the Ancient Norse Age brings all good aspects together as one!
